FISHING in VANUATU

Vanuatu is an absolute dream destination in the South Sea. Away from all industrial influences, the volcanic island allows for excellent fishing, especially for pelagic fish. The abyss edges are close to the island, so short access to the hot spots is guaranteed.
But not only pelagic predators are numerous: off the main island lies one of the best popping and jigging areas in the world. Here doggies over 100 kilos are possible and also trophy Giant Trevallies move around the remote islands.

Hot Spots for fishing

Port Vila Harbour (Efate Island) – Great for jigging (grouper, dogtooth tuna, snapper).

Epi Island – Top reef fishing destination (queenfish, coral trout, mangrove jack).

Santo Island (Espiritu Santo) – Rich in deep-sea species (yellowfin tuna, blue grouper, dogtooth tuna).

Tanna Island – Offers both jigginf and reef fishing (tuna, wahoo,giant trevally).
