GT Fishing Maldives
The Maldives are an archipelago of hundreds of islands, rising from the deep cobalt blue of the Indian Ocean. As big as the number of islands are the fishing options and fishable species, virtually everything what calls the Indian Ocean its home can be caught here. Especially for beginners the islands provide perfect conditions for GT fishing, as they have the best infrastructure for popper fishing in the Indian Ocean. The best lures are often stickbaits and diving poppers as you are fishing on shallow reefs. You should fish the first minutes of dusk and dawn if you want to catch the bigger GTs. During this period the GTs hunt along the shallower parts of the reef.
Besides the topwater fishing, jigging is excellent. Big dogtooth tuna and grouper can be caught while speed jigging. On slow jigging you can catch different kind of snappers, trevallies and jobfish.
