Fishing Canary Islands

This paradisiacal group of islands, enjoying a wonderful climate, with a constant mild temperature through all year, consists of 7 larger islands and a few smaller ones. The islands offer a stable climate throughout the summer and very short access routes to the fishing spots. The Canaries are probably the best spot for popping giant bluefin and bigeye tuna all around the world. There are some specialized charter for this extreme kind of fishing. From shore you can catch various species including trophy sized bluefish.

 

1.Fishing on Gran Canaria

Playa de las Canteras (Las Palmas): An excellent place for shore jigging. Bluefish are often found here!
Puerto Rico: A well-known spot for big game fishing. Deep-sea boats offer tours here to catch blue marlin, tuna and dorado.
Gando Bay: The rocky coastline offers great opportunities for rock fishing for species such as grouper and barracuda.
 

2. Fishing in Tenerife

Los Cristianos: This harbor is a starting point for deep-sea fishing trips. The largest bluefin tuna in the world have been caught here in recent years. Pesca Radical is the best charter to battle these giant tuna!
Punta del Hidalgo: Ideal for shore jigging for bonito and snapper.
La Caleta: A quiet fishing village with great fishing opportunities, both inshore and offshore.
 

3. Fishing in Lanzarote

Puerto del Carmen: One of the best places for deep-sea fishing. Here you can catch bigeye tuna, barracuda and wahoo.
Arrieta: An ideal place for inshore fishing, especially for sea bream and smaller barracuda.
Playa Blanca: Good conditions for rock and surf fishing with species such as wrasse and grouper.
 

4. Fishing on Fuerteventura

Corralejo: The rocky coast and deep water make it ideal for shore jigging. Bonitos and bluefish are particularly common here. You should fish here for a day with the guide Roberto, who knows the area perfectly.
Morro Jable: The coast up to the lighthouse is very rich in fish, here you can always count on barracudas and bluefish.
 

5. Fishing on La Palma

Puerto de Tazacorte: Ideal for deep-sea fishing in summer. Here you can catch marlin, tuna and dorado.
Santa Cruz de La Palma: A good spot for coastal fishing with species such as sea bream, sea bass and grouper.
 

6. Fishing on La Gomera

San Sebastián de La Gomera: A great starting point for fishing trips, but the harbor itself is also very rich in fish!
Valle Gran Rey: One of the best areas for coastal fishing. Typical catches are bluefish and blue runner.
 

7. Fishing on El Hierro

La Restinga: A hotspot for all shore jigging. Here you can catch large grouper, bluefish and snapper. In general, El Hierro is the best island for those who want to catch big fish from the shore.
