New Caledonia offers fishing on another level. The reefs around New-Caledonia are probably the best location for popping and jigging worldwide. An astounding variety of fish and fishing spots is available in this part of the world. 1. Chesterfield Reefs

• Location: 550 km northwest of the main island

• Pros: Remote, untouched, and full of monster GTs.

• Conditions: Perfect for topwater fishing and jigging

2. Astrolabe Reefs

• Location: North of Grande Terre

• Pros: Known for massive GTs and healthy reef systems.

• Conditons: Heavy current which attracts big GTs

3. Poindimié Area (East Coast of Grande Terre)

• Why it’s good: Productive barrier reef system with big GTs and less fishing pressure.

• Access: Drive or fly to Poindimié, then use local guides.

• Bonus: Good for both GT popping and dogtooth tuna jigging.
